This was our first drop test; the parachute did not inflate until about 3
meters above the ground.
Drop Test 2
This was our second drop test, from a higher corner of the building. The
parachute inflated much sooner, and we had a good 2-3 seconds of parachute
descent.
Filming from the side gave a much better view of the descent! Using the
shroud lines for scaling (337 cm from base of parachute to the top of the
upper yellow payload box) and some timing from the video, the descent rate
at impact was about 4.7 m/s, right in the ballpark of what we are shooting
for.
