HARBOR Mission Designation Convention
The HARBOR convention for mission designations is based on a 4-element
code, producing flight numbers such as har080904.
The naming convention is as follows:
- "har": 3 letter designation for "HARBOR"
- "08": 2 digit number indicating year (08 = 2008, 09 = 2009,
etc.)
- "05": 2 digit number indicating month (06 = June,
10 = October, etc.)
- "15": 2 digit number indicating day of the month
- "A": optional letter indicating which flight of the day (A = first, B =
second, etc.) in the event more than one launch is made on a given
day
Using this convention, example Mission Designations might be:
har080510 = HARBOR flight on 10 May 2008
har080702B = second HARBOR flight of 2 July 2008
